I highly recommend Alive & Well Personal Training! The gym has always been very uncomfortable for me, but they took the time to learn about my personal fitness goals and concerns with my body (I have a terrible back), and they tailored a plan specific to my needs. I feel so much more confident because of this. My life is very chaotic and it’s difficult to develop a consistent routine, but they gave me a plan that I could do from home with no equipment if needed. I really recommend this company if you are looking for a personal trainer, whether they are in-person sessions or virtual!

Janet and everyone at Alive and Well are wonderful. They take the time to get to know you and personalize a program just for you. I've had personal trainers in the past but no one compared to Janet and her team for listening and creating something that both pushed me to improve while being incredibly supportive and understanding of my limitations. I have since moved and am no longer a client but Janet still took the time to email me just to check in and see how I was doing both in life and with keeping active! I would highly recommend Alive and Well regardless of your abilities or goals for exercise.
Juancho is an excellent trainer. He's very observant and helps me to correct movements and build strength/endurance. On an aesthetic note, I was thrilled with how I felt and looked on my wedding day. Big thanks to Juancho for getting me there!
I've been meaning to work with a personal trainer for years and I finally took that first step in November (2018). Based on my preferred schedule, I was paired with Austin as my trainer. What a stroke of luck. While I know the rest of the team is top notch, I feel that Austin is a great match for me. He took it easy on me in the beginning as I was not in top form, but as we've worked together he has ramped up the workload, always helping me to listen to my body and not overdo it, yet not letting me take it too easy either. After 4 months I am starting to see some real results and am starting to achieve some of the goals we set for me. Austin is currently completing his degree in kinesiology at UBC (I believe) and is a wealth of knowledge about the human body, how it moves and how to coerce it into a healthy place. I would highly recommend this place and its staff.
If you're reading this, then you've been thinking about hiring a personal trainer, correct? I thought about it for years and tried a few that were never the right 'fit.’ After 4 sessions with Alive & Well, I knew I was in the right hands. After 6 months @ 2 x a week (translation 48 hours or only 2 days) under the brilliant tutelage of my trainer, I achieved more strength than I thought possible and along with that, enough confidence to continue riding a 500 pound Motoguzzi with ease. The aging process sucks but with the help of Alive & Well you will be better, and stronger for longer, and with that comes quality of life. Get out of your own way, call them and dare to see what will happen to the limbs that have been carrying you around for years. You are going to love the results!!
Alive and Well is a game changer. Janet, the owner, is a champion in the fitness space and has taken something that can be extremely daunting and has made it a personalized and enjoyable experience. As a larger person I have never felt so accepted and supported in any fitness environment in my life. For the last year I've had the absolute pleasure of working with one of their trainers, Kara, and with her support and guidance exercise has become an important part of my life. The care, attention, and passion she brings to her work is infectious. I never in a million years thought I could become the type of person who would exercise regularly, but working with Kara at Alive and Well has fundamentally changed my life. I even got my husband to train with her! Working with Alive and Well is an investment well worth making.
