Putting Maite’s character and spirit into words is a vastly difficult challenge as we really can’t say enough about this amazing woman. A true testament that life is all about rising to the occasion, Maite’s story brings truth to the idea that it’s not always about the challenges that we face, but rather, how we deal with those obstacles that counts.
Originally from Argentina, a career opportunity brought Maite northward where she first settled in Minnesota before making her home here in Vancouver. Though the move was a positive change, Maite found herself focusing most of her energy and attention on helping those around her, which left very little time to be devoted to her own health and happiness. After years of the same story, she had become significantly overweight, her blood pressure had reached higher than healthy levels and she was having a hard time doing any type of cardio without immediately feeling short of breath. It was then that Maite hit her breaking point and made a commitment to take her life back into her own hands.
Three years and 75lbs later, Maite’s personal drive and never-ending positivity has brought her to a point where she has made a truly inspiring lifestyle transformation. Today, Maite is one of the strongest and most confident people we know and in addition to taking up hiking, skiing, biking and running as regular weekly activities, she also just completed her first half marathon in May 2015.
